Arjen Robben is arguably the player who influenced the biggest game in German football the most. But FC Bayern had to announce that Arjen Robben will be out against Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal. The Dutchman has been absent for about a month now. First Robben was missing because of a torn muscle fiber, then he was thrown back with sciatica.
Jupp Heynckes confirmed at today’s press conference:
“He [Robben] feels good. But that wouldn’t be understandable if I put him in the squad tomorrow. For 20 minutes the risk is too high. My credo is that every player should train with the team for one to two weeks.”
The game tomorrow is like an early final. In the last six years, the clubs met in the DFB Pokal and in these games FC Bayern managed to win three times and so did Borussia Dortmund.
