The rumors about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continue. Now media report about the transfer fee and potential successors of the Gabonese. Names such as Giroud, Batshuayi, and Smolov are said to be on the list of the Schwarz-Gelben.
Aubameyang for at least €70m
Aubameyang is allowed to leave the club for at least €70m, the “kicker” reports. But so far they didn’t receive an offer for the striker.
Win-win deal between BVB and Giroud?
According to “RMC Sport” Borussia Dortmund have contacted Arsenal for Olivier Giroud (31). Possible is a loan deal until Summer. The Frenchman is said to be also interested in the deal.
It is worth mentioning, that Borussia Dortmund plans with the 31-year-old only until the summer to then sign a younger striker. However, this deal could be a win-win situation for both sides: BVB will get an experienced striker and Giroud gets the necessary playing time to be an option for the French World Cup squad. In the Premier League, he has so far lost out to his compatriot Alexandre Lacazette and is therefore in need of time on the pitch.
BVB does not aim for a swap deal. The transfers of Aubameyang and Giroud would take place independently from each other.
Batshuayi and Smolov on BVBs wishlist
According to “Kicker”, Batshuayi (24) and Smolov (27) are said to be also on BVB’s shortlist, too. The 24-year old Michy Batshuayi has a contract until summer 2021. Fedor Smolov’s contract ends in summer 2019.
Aubameyang: Stay or leave?
For Aubameyang’s future, there is still no 100% clarity. However, although BVB coach Stöger pardoned the striker it still looks like the Gabonese will leave the Borussen soon. The Telegraph reports, that the Gunners have reached an agreement with Aubameyang. But the terms between the clubs haven’t been agreed yet.
It is not unlikely, that the striker will start against Hertha Berlin on Friday [Bild]. Recently there were false translations of a “Bild” article circulating on Twitter which said, that “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been given permission to miss Friday’s Bundesliga match with Hertha Berlin.”
